New CL Command to Work with Disabled NetServer Users

You may recall my article “New Command to Enable NetServer Users” in the July 5th issue. Here, I present the complementary command Work with NetServer Users (WRKNETUSR). This command presents a Work with-style panel that lets you selectively enable disabled NetServer users.

The WRKNETUSR command relies on the List Server Information (QZLSLSTI) API to retrieve currently disabled NetServer users and present them in a Work-with list. An option is then provided to run the CHGNETUSR command against the NetServer user, thereby reenabling the user. A help panel group is included to document both the command and the list panel. The CHGNETUSR command is required to create this utility. See the July 5th article to obtain the code for CHGNETUSR and for a somewhat detailed discussion on the iSeries NetServer concepts relating to user profiles.
