IFS Journal Monitor — Part 1

This issue’s utility from Carsten Flensburg is an IFS journal monitor that records when a new object is created in a specified IFS directory. The code presented here is based on the methodology discussed in the October 9, 2003,newsletter, which you can read at http://www2.systeminetwork.com/article.cfm?ID=17415.

There are two CL programs, CBX925X and CBX925C, and ILE RPG program CBX925.

CL program CBX925X creates the required journal objects and programs based on its two input parameters, the library to store the compiled utility and the name of the IFS directory to monitor. In addition to creating the data area, the journal receiver, and the journal needed for this utility, it compiles programs CBX925C and CBX925.
