A while ago, I wrote an article about retrieving remote journal information. (See “APIs by Example: What’s the Current State of Your Remote Journals?” February 15, 2012, article ID 698802). In that article, I mentioned the new Send SMTP Email (SNDSMTPEMM) command that IBM made available to IBM i releases 6.1 and 7.1 with the following PTFs:
- Release 6.1 PTF (SI44666)
- Release 6.1 APAR (SE49380)
- Release 7.1 PTF (SI44334)
- Release 7.1 APAR (SE48980)
Because the SNDSMTPEMM command is delivered midrelease, it’s provided only as an uppercase English version, as opposed to the various language versions usually provided to reflect and honor the system’s primary language configuration. Because of this circumstance, no help text panel group is included either. All this will, of course, be corrected in the IBM i release following 7.1.
