If your AS/400’s system value QPFRADJ is set to 2 or 3, the system is — more or less — in charge of performance adjustment on your machine. If you prefer to have more control of the performance adjustment process, you can use the WRKSHRPOOL (Work with Shared Pools) command.
After you open the WRKSHRPOOL panel, press F11 to display the tuning data. Here you can enter the priority, the minimum and maximum pool size, the minimum and maximum faults per second, and job values. (Press F1 to see a detailed explanation of each parameter.) The system will use the values you enter as guidelines for its automatic performance adjustments.
